Aston Carter Finance & ERP Systems Manager in Abbotsford, British Columbia

Aston Carter's large client it seeking a Finance and Systems Manager to join their team! This position offers a unique opportunity to lead significant system implementation projects and evolve into a broader role supporting various financial and business initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead ERP Integration Projects: Oversee the ERP implementation, ensuring alignment with operational and financial objectives.

  • Expand ERP Implementation: Partner with stakeholders to complete the ERP installation, including providing hands-on training and support, ensuring seamless and timely transitions.

  • Review Enhancements & Optimization: Define and prioritize enhancements in ERP systems and lead their implementation using both internal and external resources.

  • System Workflow Accuracy: Review and refine company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure workflows are consistent across all company locations.

  • Evaluate Opportunities for Improvement: Assess, recommend & recommend utilization of the ERP modules or tools that can improve business outcomes and deliver efficiencies and cost savings.

  • Evaluate and Implement Software Tools: Implement and oversee adoption of complementary tools, including maintenance of ERP and third-party add-ons across all business operations.

  • Financial Reporting & Business Analytics

  • Reporting Setup: Design and manage the establishment of scalable, accurate financial reporting systems.

  • KPI Reporting & Dashboards: Develop and maintain KPI tracking systems and build dashboards using Power BI to offer actionable insights into business performance and financial health.

  • General Ledger Integration: Collaborate with the finance team to troubleshoot and manage financial transaction flows to the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and reliability.

  • System Oversight & Process Improvement

  • Strategic System Analysis: Analyze existing software tools and provide recommendations for IT system enhancements aligned with business growth.

  • User Consultation & Support: Collaborate with key stakeholders to define ERP user needs, ensuring alignment between system functionality and business operations.

  • Process Optimization: Drive process improvements and operational efficiency by recommending and overseeing new software implementation projects or upgrades that directly impact the business.

  • Month-End, Year-End, and Ad Hoc Support

  • Month-End Close: Provide key support during the month-end close process by ensuring financial transactions are reconciled accurately in the ERP system and financial statements are prepared in a timely manner.

  • Year-End Financial Processes: Support the Director of Finance through year-end financial activities, including audit preparation (working papers, schedules, reconciliations) and compliance reporting.

  • Strategic Ad Hoc Analysis: Assist the Director of Finance with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to support evolving business requirements.

  • Team Collaboration & Leadership

  • Technical Leadership: Offer technical oversight of the ERP system and provide consultation on how it’s set up and utilized across the organization.

  • Cross-Functional Oversight: Ensure user application of ERP aligns with operational goals by coordinating with finance, IT, and production teams to resolve issues and address areas for improvement.

  • Change Management: Act as a champion for system enhancements by designing training strategies, developing user-friendly functionalities, and improving system interfaces to enhance user adoption.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Must Haves:

  • CPA designation (CA, CMA, CGA).

  • 2+ years of post-designation experience in a senior finance role.

  • Experience with leading and ERP implementation or upgrade.

  • Experience optimizing modules, troubleshooting ERP workflows, and developing customized configurations is essential.

  • Experience with inventory, costing, AP, AR and Sales.

  • Technical leadership and change management.

  • Competent in technology integrations and financial system optimization.

  • Intermediate to advance Excel skills.

  • Previous project management experience with the ability to lead cross-functional projects while managing internal and external resources.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $110000.00/yr.

This is a fully onsite position in Abbotsford,BC.
