Job Title: Machine Operator
Job Description
As a Machine Operator, you will oversee the operation of four machines to ensure they are running properly. Your role includes checking the quality of the product, ensuring the correct weight and labeling, and keeping track of products. Occasionally, you will load and unload packaging material on the machine.
Responsibilities
Inspect equipment daily to ensure it is clean and sanitary.
Check metal detectors as instructed.
Conduct changeovers, replacing packaging film as needed.
Coordinate proper spicing with correct packaging film.
Check code dates for accuracy every 15 minutes.
Inspect bag seams to ensure seals are strong.
Work with quality control to ensure standards are maintained and keep applicable records.
Maintain efficient operation of equipment.
Troubleshoot and proactively solve potential problems with equipment.
Communicate with all production associates to ensure positive flow of production and accomplish goals of the packaging schedule.
Essential Skills
Thorough knowledge of machinery and sound mechanical ability.
Ability to use production computer program.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
Ability to be an independent thinker and make good decisions.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under constant pressure of production line environment.
Must be able to lift rolls of film weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis during the shift.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
High School diploma or on-the-job experience.
Experience in machine operation or food manufacturing preferred but not required.
Mechanically inclined.

Work Environment
You will work in a warm facility, particularly during the summer. The environment includes machinery and production products such as chips and popcorn. The facility and machinery are cleaned every Friday, with the night shift participating in sanitation work before closing up shop. It can be dirty at times due to dealing with chips and grease.
