CITY OF ALICE Groundskeeper - Golf Course (Alice, Tx) in Alice, Texas
Primary Purpose:
Performs maintenance activities on parks grounds, building, recreational and athletic facilities and small equipment in accordance with established procedures for proper maintenance of equipment, departmental operation and safety.
Education/Certification:
Clear and valid Texas driver's license
Experience:
Prefer 2 years' experience in landscaping, lawncare, and other agricultural work at a golf course
Experience in operating zero-turn mowers and tractors pulling mowers that are PTO driven
Prefer experience in managing pond algae
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Performs landscape maintenance involving mowing, raking, planting, trimming trees, grass and weeds
- Mow fairway, greens, and rough areas using specific techniques common to golf course care and upkeep
- Safely operate lawn and turf maintenance equipment
- Maintain, clean and store assigned equipment according to established policies and procedures.
- Dig and/or fill holes using shovels or other lawn care equipment
- Assists in leveling out tee boxes
- Assists in spreading fertilizer
- Assists in repairs of irrigation systems
- Assists in golf cart maintenance including, flat tire repair and battery maintenance
- General upkeep of the maintenance barn 11.
