Primary Purpose:

Performs maintenance activities on parks grounds, building, recreational and athletic facilities and small equipment in accordance with established procedures for proper maintenance of equipment, departmental operation and safety.

Education/Certification:

Clear and valid Texas driver's license

Experience:

Prefer 2 years' experience in landscaping, lawncare, and other agricultural work at a golf course

Experience in operating zero-turn mowers and tractors pulling mowers that are PTO driven

Prefer experience in managing pond algae

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Performs landscape maintenance involving mowing, raking, planting, trimming trees, grass and weeds
2. Mow fairway, greens, and rough areas using specific techniques common to golf course care and upkeep
3. Safely operate lawn and turf maintenance equipment
4. Maintain, clean and store assigned equipment according to established policies and procedures.
5. Dig and/or fill holes using shovels or other lawn care equipment
6. Assists in leveling out tee boxes
7. Assists in spreading fertilizer
8. Assists in repairs of irrigation systems
9. Assists in golf cart maintenance including, flat tire repair and battery maintenance
10. General upkeep of the maintenance barn

Environment:Work outside and inside, on slippery or uneven walking surfaces; frequent exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures, insects and wildlife including bees and snakes; dust, toxic chemicals and materials, noise, and vibration; work around moving objects or vehicles; may work alone; occasional prolonged or irregular hours
