WATTS Accounts Payable Specialist (Contract) in Andover, Massachusetts

As the Accounts Payable Specialist, you will oversee the processing of invoices, vendor payments, and maintaining accurate financial records. You will play a critical role in resolving payment discrepancies, addressing vendor inquiries, and collaborating with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations. We ask that you have a keen eye for detail, strong problem-solving skills, and proficiency in accounting software to maintain accuracy and efficiency. You will work as part of a 6-month project team that requires onsite work in Andover, MA.
You Will:
Process a high volume of invoices in compliance with company policies and procedures.
Manage workflows to ensure approvals and processing of invoices and check requests.
Investigate and address workflow delays, communicating necessary corrective actions.
Review and reconcile open receivers to resolve discrepancies.
Research and resolve issues related to invoice and purchase order variances.
Process invoices in foreign currencies and ensure compliance with international payment standards.
Reconcile vendor statements, investigate discrepancies, and resolve outstanding issues.
Review debit balances on vendor accounts and take appropriate corrective action.
Maintain critical vendor accounts and escalate issues as needed.
Evaluate and determine sales and use tax applicability on vendor invoices.
Support month-end and year-end close processes to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Provide support during internal and external audits.
Adhere to established Accounts Payable policies, procedures, and control processes.
You Have:
Associate’s degree in Business, Accounting, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
2+ years of experience in accounts payable or a related field.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong technical skills.
Familiarity with large ERP systems and analytical tools.
Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders, and the ability to provide exceptional customer service and diplomatically resolve conflicts.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
Work in both office and manufacturing environment. May occasionally be required to perform job duties outside the typical office setting.
