As the Senior Accounts Payable Specialist, you will manage the processing of high-volume accounts payable activities, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. You will maintain positive vendor relations, resolve disputes, and support internal and external audits. In this role, you will also play a key part in transitioning accounts payable processes to a new ERP system. Reporting to the Accounts Payable Manager, this position involves supporting month-end close activities, tackling workflow issues, and maintaining critical vendor accounts.
You Will:
Analyze and process high volumes of invoices in compliance with company policies and procedures.
Manage workflows to ensure timely processing and approvals of invoices and check requests.
Investigate and resolve workflow delays, communicating corrective actions as needed.
Review and reconcile open receivers and address invoice versus purchase order variances.
Process invoices in foreign currencies and evaluate sales and use taxability.
Reconcile vendor statements, research discrepancies, and take corrective action on debit balances.
Maintain critical vendor accounts and escalate issues as necessary.
Support month-end and year-end close activities and contribute to internal and external audits.
Participate in the ERP migration to SAP and adhere to AP policies and controls to ensure accuracy.
You Have:
Associate’s degree in business, finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.
4+ years of accounts payable processing experience, with SAP experience preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with multi-currency environments.
Experience in paperless processing environments is a plus.
Understanding of standard accounting concepts and processes.
Flexibility to adapt to business requirements, including month-end close and payment runs.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
Work in both office and manufacturing environment. May occasionally be required to perform job duties outside the typical office setting.
