As our Core Messaging Principal Software Engineer, you will lead and support one of our Messaging products globally to help the Aviation industry move messages undisrupted. You will be responsible for the messaging data in transit to ensure the on-time arrival for you, your friends and families, and all passengers flying around the globe. The applications you will be leading will support over 1,500 aviation customers, transmitting over 75 million messages per day across the Aviation community. We are looking for a self-starter and a team player with an ambitious and diverse technical background to support and contribute to this awesome mission.
What You Will Do:
You will work onsite, 4-5 days a week in our Annapolis, MD site.
Lead the architectural design elements of the next-generation ARINC Mail web and desktop applications.
Work with the Software Engineering and Infrastructure Teams to bring architectural elements to life on large-scale applications and platforms.
Serve as a Subject Matter Expert on customer engagements and contribute your domain knowledge and expertise towards the overall project’s success.
Support software design and requirements for architecting application stacks for the end solution.
Support current ARINC Mail web and desktop applications to ensure we provide excellent value to our aviation customers.
Work with Senior Management, Technical Program Managers, Value Stream Leaders, and the Business Development Team to provide messaging solutions for aviation customers.
You will support nights and weekend on call as needed
Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience.
Prior experience in Oracle Communication Suites
Prior experience as a Java Architect on large-scale, web-based applications, desktop applications, and microservices
Prior experience developing and supporting the following operating systems: Unix/Solaris, RHEL/Linux, and Windows OS
Prior experience with use cases, process flows, and UML
U.S. citizenship is required - Only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under these programs/contracts.

The salary range for this role is 112,000 USD - 224,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
