Emory Univeristy is seeking a Controls System Operation Technician I for the shift Tuesday - Sunday 10pm - 6:30 am.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Monitors, operates and troubleshoots the energy management system that controls the heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems (HVAC) serving the campus.
Retrofits, troubleshoots, calibrates, repairs and maintains HVAC systems.
Provides preventive maintenance of direct digital, pneumatic, electric and electronic controls for HVAC systems.
Diagnoses control system failures and takes corrective action.
Notifies customers when alarms sound on their equipment or space being monitored.
Tracks HVAC equipment performance issues.
Prepares daily reports to document work performed.
Reads and interprets blueprints and schematic drawings, including control prints.
Adheres to OSHA standards and other applicable federal and state regulations when working with hazardous chemicals and power equipment.
Uses personal protective equipment as required.
Performs related responsibilities as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A high school diploma or equivalent.
Three years of controls experience OR completion of a formal controls training program AND knowledge of controls and HVAC systems OR one year of controls experience and five years of commercial or industrial HVAC experience.
Basic knowledge of HVAC, electrical and electronics systems.
A working knowledge of various computer software applications.
Preference will be given to individuals with knowledge of Siemens, Johnson or ALC controls systems, completion of a HVACR program at a technical or trade school and/or a State of Georgia Conditioned Air Contractors License.
A valid Georgia driver's license and an insurable driving record.
Some positions within this classification may require the ability to lift 50 pounds and to bend, stoop and twist.
NOTE: Position tasks are required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location; working remote is not an option. Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
