The Corporate Accounting and Financial Reporting department is a very dynamic team and in high demand of great talent. The primary objective of the team is to manage the general ledger close process, consolidate and report on the global financial results of the Company. Additional objectives include supporting business unit finance teams with extracting and analyzing accurate data, creating and enforcing accounting and reporting policies, supporting the audit function and ensuring financial and reporting controls are timely and accurate.

We have an opportunity for an Accounting Manager to join our team Corporate Accounting and Financial Reporting team. This role has the opportunity to create long-term, sustainable changes that will move the organization forward in supporting the Company’s goals. In addition, this position offers a unique opportunity to be responsible for the end-to-end accounting to reporting processes while working on challenging and rewarding tasks in a dynamic and innovative environment!

Role:

The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the processes, accounting and reporting for the company’s pension plans, leases, fixed assets and other monthly accounting tasks such as medical benefits to ensure all Securities and Exchange Commission filings (i.e., 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, etc.) are completed in an efficient and timely manner. He/She assists in researching and documenting the appropriate accounting treatment of transactions based on Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This position will direct senior accountants and an offshore business process provider while working closely with business partners across the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform full-cycle general ledger accounting, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

  • Reviews balance sheet reconciliations in accordance with Company policies and standards on a monthly and quarterly basis with an emphasis on quality.

  • Ensures smooth quarter-end and month-end close processes regarding the consolidated general ledger with a focus on corporate accounting based centralized entries such as significant medical expenses and accruals.

  • Provides strong process documentation of key close processes to allow cross training and effective re-performance.

  • Conducts technical accounting research and analysis in specific subject matters such as fixed assets, operating leases and pension accounting, ensuring compliance with company policies.

  • Supports creation and upkeep of accounting policies and other strategic projects.

  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance especially on facilitation of fixed asset processes and controls.

  • Assist with the quarterly tie-outs of specific footnotes of the 10Q/10K especially related around leases and pension accounting.

  • Partner with the paper manufacturing facilities and converting facilities finance leadership to determine appropriate capital reporting and providing timely analysis to the business units to make strategic decisions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Accounting / Finance / Business

  • Professional accounting certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent is preferred

  • 6+ years of relevant experience

  • Subject matter expertise and/or a passion for corporate accounting and financial reporting

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving capability

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills

  • Business partnering and cross-group collaboration skills; ability to steward large groups of diverse stakeholders, gather different points of view, and create recommended approaches, influencing across multiple functions and levels in a complex, global organization

  • High level of integrity and values to ensure accurate reporting of financial data

  • Inquisitive, proactive, self-starter who is results-oriented

  • Public accounting experience a plus, especially advisory in controls and compliance

  • Experience with S/4HANA and/or Central Finance is a plus

  • Experience with Workiva and/or Blackline is a plus

Pay Range: $112,560.00 - $150,045.00
