Cloud DevOps Engineer, Data Platform
A Day in the LIfe:
At Hertz, customer experience is at the forefront of everything we do. To help us build functional systems that improve customer experience we are now looking for an experienced Cloud DevOps Engineer.
This role is responsible for managing the cloud infrastructure including AWS & Databricks and CI/CD pipelines for the Data Platform and Data Engineering team. They will work closely with the Enterprise Cloud Platform Engineering team and leading the Enterprise DevOps team, acting as a bridge between development and operations by applying a software engineering mindset to system administration tasks. Daily activities include but not limited to solution architecture, infrastructure monitoring, incident response, and automated infrastructure and application deployments across all software development lifecycles.
The ideal candidate should be proficient in implementing CI/CD pipelines, managing containerized applications, and leveraging configuration management tools & a strong advocate of ITIL best practices, with deep expertise in Windows and Linux system administration, cloud services, and DevOps automation.
What You'll Do:
DAY-TO-DAY
Build CI/CD Pipeline capabilities using GitHub, Gitlab, Jenkins
Build/maintain Infrastructure as code using CloudFormation, Terraform, or Ansible
Write Ansible playbooks, roles, inventory management and modules
Work on containerizing legacy applications
Provide level 2 technical support
Perform root cause analysis for production errors
Analyzing Application logs, IIS logs, System logs and security logs using event views and log manager.
Demonstration of Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills

Monitor platform usage and alert management leaders before key metrics hit their threshold
Resolving tickets in Service Desk for support requests
User management, including onboarding, roles and permissions, and troubleshooting

TECHNOLOGY
Developing cloud first, large-scale, public web facing software utilizing the appropriate technology for the task at hand

What We're Looking For:
5+ years in software engineering; or a Bachelor in Computer Science or other related field
Experience as a DevOps Engineer, Cloud Engineer or similar software engineering role
Strong knowledge of AWS , Databricks , git and git workflows
Experience with Infrastructure as Code and tools including Terraform, Ansible, and AWS CloudFormation preferred
Experience in Cloud logging, monitoring, and observability tools
Experience deploying to cloud environments
Experience in cloud resource optimization .
Experience in DevOps and GitOps models with infra-as-code, config-as-code, policy-as-code,Strong communication skills
Working knowledge of Lean and Agile methodologies
Experience in enterprise-scale environments, building highly available IaaS and PaaS solutions
Understanding of landing zones, cloud-native security, monitoring and logging tools, and Well-Architected Framework principals.
Experience with containers related technologies and CICD tools - Jenkins, pipelines, container repos, etc
The starting salary is $115,000, commensurate with experience. Posting open until position is filled.
