Job Title: Phlebotomist II - Atlanta
Job Description
The main function of a Phlebotomist II is to assist in performing various assigned duties, troubleshooting, training, and making workflow recommendations.
Responsibilities
Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, record maintenance data, and decontaminate equipment.
Update patient information and collect and store specimens according to established procedures.
Clearly and courteously explain the process of venipuncture, blood drawing, and other specimen collections (e.g., urine or fecal) as required.
Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
Fully understand and follow all physicians' orders.
Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.
Ensure 100% accuracy by checking all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts.
Package specimens for transport and store them at the required temperature to maintain integrity.
Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations and attend annual department trainings.
Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.

Qualifications
Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment (as required in some states)
Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting
High School Diploma or GED
2-4 years of experience
Must be willing to submit to a Drug Test and Background Check.
The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 7 AM to 4 PM.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
