As a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test you will help deliver the quality and performance of large scale, custom hardware multi-platform software products and applications that includes; web, API and mobile application interfaces. Incumbents are experienced, hands on and self-motivated engineer who can work in a continuous integration environment.

This role involves interacting with Software Developers that includes demonstrating shift-left methods to understand a sophisticated domain and product. The SDET is instrumental in the development of automated functional component tests, integration tests and end-to-end tests through open source test frameworks for overall system testing within an Agile environment. You must be adaptable, flexible and able to succeed within a cohesive work environment. The SDET must have a strong understanding of user and process requirements and skills to ensure those requirements can be achieved through high-quality work.

Key Responsibilities

Define and implement test automation strategy including roadmap, tools, framework & approach - including team enablement and test data strategy across project teams

Collaborates with other Delta groups to support strategic initiatives and projects, as well as coordinate functional testing in support of the Employee Services for web-app, mobile and/or SAP HR projects

Write, maintain, and execute test cases both automated and manual

Our SDETs are Full Stack Testers responsible for defining, tracking, and executing quality assurance processes and metrics across all levels of our applications. An SDET should have 5 or more years of experience using automation to test web-based software products and services in a team environment. They will help drive innovation and continuous improvement into our quality processes. Candidate must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • 5 years of experience in Information Technology with expertise in test automation of applications from UI and API layer.

  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright for web applications.

  • Design and execute E2E, component, and API tests using Playwright.

  • Candidate should have hands on experience of writing, maintaining automated UI and APIs tests written in Java, JavaScript, C#, Python using various open-source testing libraries like Selenium, Cypress, REST Assured

  • Experience building test automation framework from ground up using modular framework and design pattern like Page Object Model design pattern (POM) etc.

  • Implement and enhance Page Object Model (POM) and modular automation frameworks for scalability.

  • Experience automating backend REST services including writing custom functions using tools such as Postman, REST Assured, Cypress, Ready API etc.

  • Experience with one or more querying languages such SQL (preferred), Oracle, MySQL and/or No SQL databases (Cassandra, MongoDB etc).

  • Experience working in distributed agile teams using agile frameworks such as SCRUM , SAFe, XP etc.

  • Experience working with source code management tools such as GitLab, GitHub, AWS Code Commit etc.

  • Experience of creating test reports from automation test run using tools such as cucumber report, Extent report etc.

  • Ability to quickly adapt to new tools and evolving technologies.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication.

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

  • Experience in migrating automation from Selenium to Playwright.

  • Experience of working with various AWS cloud services such as EC2, s3 bucket, AWS code pipeline, CloudFormation, Elastic bean etc.

  • Hands on experience of virtualizing services for test automation using tools such as Wire Mock, Mockito etc.

  • Experience of writing, designing functional test cases using TDD and BDD methodologies using Gherkin syntax.

  • Experience of working with test management and agile management tools such as Agility(VersionOne), qTest etc.

  • Experience of working with container orchestration tools such as docker, RED Hat OpenShift, AWS CloudFormation.

  • Experience of non-functional testing such as performance, load, stress, security, assessability and usability testing.
