Job Overview
The Pharmacy Technician Associate has a provisional PHAT certification. Works under the direction of certified Pharmacy Technician or a licensed pharmacist to learn the job skills of a pharmacy technician and prepares for PHAT certification exam. This position performs and assists with variety of technical procedures to support hospital pharmacy operations.

Department Name: Pharmacy Job Status: 40 hours per week, eligible for benefits Shift: Variable, rotating day and evening shifts weekly as determined by department need. Shift Times: 5:00am-1:30pm, 6:00am-2:30pm, 2:00pm-10:30pm, 3:00pm-11:30pm Weekend Requirement: 1 weekend per month (every 4th weekend), rotation determined by business need and training Holiday Requirement: 2 major holidays per year This position starts at $18.45/hour.
Qualifications
EDUCATION - High School Diploma or Equivalent CERTIFICATION(S) - Provisional State of Colorado Pharmacy Technician (PHATP) Certificate or within 30 days of hire

POPULATION SPECIFIC CARE a.) Neonate - 30 days to 1yr c.) Toddlers - >1yr to 3yrs d.) Pre-Schoolers - >3yrs to 5yrs e.) School age - >5yrs to 13yrs f.) Adolescent - >13yrs to 18yrs g.) Adult - >18yrs to 65yrs ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all of the following essential functions. These examples do not include all of the functions which the employee may be expected to perform. Prepares preparing unit-dose nonhazardous and hazardous medications and drug supplies for dispensing as directed by a licensed pharmacist. Follows security/storage requirements of all medications including temperature monitoring. Takes inventory and analyzes patient-care area medication supply; replaces outdated medications; replaces depleted inventory; performs cycle count. Independently performs inspections for medication outdates. Restocks and delivers medications to patient care areas or clinics, as assigned, including automated dispen ing machines. Prepares non-parenteral nonhazardous and hazardous medications for dispensing including controlled substances; delivers medications. Assists in preparation of parenteral medications for dispensing including controlled substances and may include any specialty area (such as chemotherapy, etc.) competency; maintains all required records for controlled substances. Assists in preparation of medications for dispensing through pharmacy software
