Under the direction of a licensed pharmacist and following established policies and procedures, Pharmacy Technicians perform a variety of technical procedures to support hospital inpatient or outpatient pharmacy operations.
Salary Range: $20.50 to $29.04 (hour) or $42,640 to $60,422 (annual) *Based on hours worked per week and years of experience. *Several positions are eligible for mileage reimbursement and/or shift differentials (PRN, evening, night & weekend). Eligible Incentives: Relocation assistance available for qualified external applicants. Hours per week: 40, eligible for benefits. PRN roles also available! Anschutz (Inpatient): Shift: Days/evenings (not a set schedule) and rotating weekends and holiday commitments. Shift Times: 5:00am-1:30pm, 6:00am-2:30pm, 2:00pm-10:30pm, 3:00pm-11:30pm Weekend Requirement: One (1) weekend/month (every 4th weekend), rotation determined by business need and training. Holiday Requirement: Two (2) major holidays/year. Becoming a float pharmacy technician is the perfect steppingstone to the boundless opportunities. Within our pharmacy, we have a diversity of roles that you would be able to advocate for learning and building your skill set. By providing sterile and nonsterile products to our pediatric patients, you would be building skills unlike anywhere else. Working in our IV room, you would be utilizing aseptic technique, abiding by USP 797, building important mathematical skills, and preparing detailed compounds. From there you could expand upon your knowledge to work in one of our three satellite clean room pharmacies (Intensive Care Unit, Operating Room, and Oncology). When working with nonsterile products, you will learn to compound several dosage forms from tablets and capsules to suspensions and ointments. Make an Impact Education - High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience -One (1) year of pharmacy technician experience Equivalency - Completion of pharmacy technician program may substitute for the one (1) year of the experience requirement Certifications: State of Colorado Pharmacy Technician (PHAT) Certification Certificate through a nationally recognized certification board or body approved by the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) such as the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Healthcare Association (NHA) Job Highlights: Prepares preparing unit-dose nonhazardous and hazardous medications and drug supplies for dispensing as directed by a licensed pharmacist. Follows security/storage requirements of all medications including temperature monitoring. Takes inventory and analyzes patient-care area medication supply; replaces outdated medications; replaces depleted inventory; performs cycle count. Independently performs inspections for medication outdates. Restocks and delivers medications to patient care areas or clinics, as assigned, including automated dispensing machines; assists in resolving discrepancies. Prepares non-parenteral nonhazardous and hazardous medications for dispensing including controlled substances; delivers medications. Prepares parenteral medications for dispensing including controlled substances and may include any specialty area (such as chemotherapy, etc.) competency; maintains all required records for controlled substances. Independently prepares medications for dispensing through pha macy software while verifying all lot and expiration numbers; Follows the dispense prep/dispense check process in Epic when preparing medications. Maintains inventory and supplies in assigned pharmacy area; ensures all inventory has a validate barcode process completed per established guidelines and procedures. Performs charging and crediting of medication returns. Reports adverse drug events and medication variances using the hospital variance reporting program (QSRS).
