This role is responsible for managing and executing design tasks in support of special offer and marketing campaign banners and email templates across the Marriott digital ecosystem as well as supporting ongoing optimization efforts of the same. The Senior Designer will partner closely with the Director, Digital User Experience, fellow UX designers, copywriters, product management team members, and technology colleagues to ensure that banners and email templates are consistent, aligned to standards, high-quality, performant, and effective.
This position requires an ability to produce high-quality designs within the established workflow, to consistently meet committed critical campaign timelines, to provide guidance to internal and external designers to ensure alignment with brand and other standards, and to contribute fresh and innovative concepts in support of continual improvement.
A strong portfolio is critical. Yours should showcase general skill in UX/UI design, while highlighting any experience with high-volume production design as well as any digital merchandising or marketing-oriented work including email templates.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
5+ years of relevant experience in digital product design
4-year undergraduate degree, with bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline, or equivalent work experience
Experience in user-centric design
Strong understanding of visual design principles
Proficient in general usability and transactional design best practices
Experience designing transactional and marketing email templates
Experience with major, large-scale global digital apps, websites, or other digital products
Proven experience delivering high quality digital design work from concepts through final deliverables
Familiarity with interpreting and applying branding and brand concepts

Are skilled at selecting appropriate images for a given context
Demonstrate self-confidence, energy, and enthusiasm
Showcase strong presentation and communication skills, with ability to defend design decisions
Ability to continuously iterate on designs based on feedback and usability testing to enhance user experience
Nice to Have:
Experience working in support of large-scale global digital entities or other digital products within the hospitality, or travel industry
Superior communication and interpersonal skills
Experience with Adobe Workfront or similar tools
Experience with Agile / SAFE development methodologies

References Marriott design systems for appropriate patterns, components, and styles
Ensure a quality experience on live digital products by participating in the user acceptance testing process
Uses software including: Figma, Fig Jam, Adobe Creative Suite; Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Keeps skills up to date on industry trends and applies new knowledge by identifying strategic opportunities for competitive advantages
Be a thought partner providing recommendations based on research and data for experience enhancements
Collaborates with a variety of user experience disciplines within the team (Information Architecture, Design System/Standards, User Research, Copywriting) to advance your work
Managing Work, Projects, and Policies
Provides accurate estimates as to needed time to complete work to feed project plans (and therefore personal deadlines)
Consistently meets deadlines once agreed upon
Reports impediments to completing work and meeting deadlines
Proactively communicates project status updates to manager

Additional Responsibilities
Works independently with minimal supervision, but knows when issues should be escalated to manager

The pay range for this position is $47.35 to $71.49 per hour.
Washington Applicants Only: Employees will accrue 0.0334 PTO balance for every hour worked and eligible to receive minimum of 9 holidays annually.
