Guardian Life Head of Business Technology, Corporate Functions in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania
As Head of Business Technology, you are accountable for developing and executing technology strategy, delivery and operations that support each of the Corporate functions. You will develop and execute the enterprise technology roadmap (both current and forward looking) ensuring a customer centric focus and alignment with Guardian’s emerging enterprise technology strategy.
Reporting to the Chief Digital & Technology Officer, you will be part of the Digital and Technology Leadership team and cultivate strong executive relationships with the Corporate C-suite and their teams. You will lead a team of 100 employees in the US and India along with third party partners. You will identify opportunities to introduce leading-edge technology solutions and advance critical opportunities, which will positively impact business outcomes, goals and objectives.
Responsibilities include:
L eadership : Build, lead an exceptionally high performing team focused on talent development, delivering differentiating value, driving operational efficiency, and an inclusive culture that values the equity, inclusion and engagement of people and collaborative teams.
Strategy & Planning : Partner with Corporate functions to assess current internal landscape and develop a holistic technology strategy and road map that delivers scale and efficiencies for each corporate entity aligned to the functional strategies, objectives and metrics. Provide thought leadership for technology direction based on functional and platform domain expertise (e.g. Oracle, Workday).
Solution Delivery & Operations : Lead teams that own both run and change of the business; develop a scalable and innovative approach to the software portfolio and technical operations; streamline technology development and support to ensure ease in software, business intelligence and analytics products, development and deployment automation and professional service implementation; ensure the application and systems infrastructure support product requirements and ensure consistent service levels and operational reliability.
Innovation and Emerging Technology : Anticipate and respond to major technology evolutions, industry trends, and emerging technologies in anticipation of new business opportunities to enable corporate functions capabilities and deliver Guardian’s strategic growth.
Governance : Define and implement sustainable and scalable governance processes for the organization’s technological architecture, networks, programming, development, and maintenance while also ensuring appropriate risk control.
Digital and Technology Executive Leadership : As a key member of the CDTO leadership team, you play a strategic role in building and delivering on our digital and technology transformation. You play a key role in attracting, developing and building our talent capabilities across the function. You will have an enterprise mindset while delivering exceptional results for your direct key business stakeholders.
Desired experience:
Proven business oriented and commercially savvy Digital and Technology executive with a strong understanding of how technology can drive ROI.
Exceptional people leader that develops high performing teams and technical talent.
Proven track record in driving transformational technology strategy and initiatives.
Strong operational IT focus with ability to optimize the Enterprise IT portfolio while building upon the core components of the team’s capabilities.
Prior technology experience in direct market facing responsibilities or corporate functions, with strong preference for finance, HR or risk technology.

Salary Range:
$250,000 - $300,000
The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
