Defense Health Agency Contract Administration Program Specialist in Bexar County, Texas

Summary About the Position: This position is located within Defense Health Agency Network Central team in San Antonio, Texas. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Contract Administration Program Specialist in the Resource Operations Division with responsibility for training, guidance, and oversight for 39 Military Treatment Facilities (MTFs). Responsibilities Advise Director/Deputy Director on matters that render significant program decisions. Monitor contract milestones and accomplishments Plan the overall acquisition approach to meet acquisition lifeĀ¬ cycle management requirements. Coach customer coordinators to select appropriate techniques and procedures to resolve acquisition problems. Determine the most advantageous means to acquire services and/or equipment needed to meet program requirements. Use automated financial systems and computer-generated products in accomplishing contracting assignments Perform market research/analysis to assess program requirements. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Assisting with contract requirements in a healthcare environment or organization; Recommending most advantageous means to acquire services and/or approve contract solicitations; Conducting research or analysis to determine operational or budgetary compliance. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Acquisition Strategy Planning and Evaluating Program Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct Deposit of Pay is required. This position requires you to submit a Public Financial Disclosure Report (OGE 278) or a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
