Job Description

Plans and directs activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for industrial processes, materials, and products by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.

  • Devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.

  • Establish program to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical equipment and facilities.

  • Develops and implements methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material, and devises methods to assess cost and responsibility.

  • Directs workers engaged in measuring and testing product and tabulating data concerning materials, product, or process quality and reliability.

  • Interfaces with procurement, engineering, manufacturing, customer, or vendors to coordinate and resolve quality-related problems.

  • Provides computerized status report describing progress and concerns related to inspection activities, nonconforming items, and/or other items related to the quality of the process, material, or product.

  • Compiles and writes training material and conducts training sessions on quality control activities.

  • Maintain a working knowledge of the latest codes, and new developments in testing and examination methods of processes, materials, and products.

  • Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit’s success also may be assigned.

  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent or ten (10) years directly related experience will be considered.

  • Minimum five (5) years directly related Electrical Quality Control Inspector experience with knowledge of construction, mining, and oil & gas industry.

  • Current Alaska Electrical License.

  • Drivers license and acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under company vehicle insurance policy preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts; work in high, precarious places and outdoor weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions fumes or airborne particles; extreme cold; extreme heat and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision and Ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to handle, or feel and climb or balance. Steel toed boots required on the job.

Travel may require an employee or contractor to pass a TSA security checkpoint.
