Intern Central Construction Engineer (Transmission and Distribution Overhead Projects)
QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:
- Engineer major required
- Must have successfully completed sophomore year or above by start date
- Must be in good academic standing
- Must provide GPA in Resume upon application
- Ability to demonstrate and maintain a good safety record
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products, particularly Outlook, Excel and Word
- Ability to lift materials up to 35 pounds
- Ability to pass an employment physical, a drug test and a background check
DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Learn about NorthWestern Energy transmission lines, distribution lines and system operations
- Use PLS-CADD Software to design and analyze transmission lines to complete engineering analysis
- Contribute to a variety of engineering tasks assigned to Transmission and Distribution Construction (e.g. job site analysis, landowner contact, job book creation, communication between engineer/project manager and crews, etc.)
- Assist in Company Wide Wildfire mitigation process and implementation
- Work on infrastructure mapping/GIS information to improve data
- Participate in organizational work meetings
- Adhere to company safety standards and the Code of Business Conduct & Ethics
- Ensure all actions are consistent with NorthWestern Energy's values, mission, and strategic business objectives
Temporary position, will work May - August full-time (40 hours per week) and September - December part-time (up to 20 hours per week while back at school).
$20.00 per hour.
