HVAC Technician

Job Description

This individual will report to the Refrigeration Shop to perform planned maintenance, repair, and other projects on owned properties. You will work independently or as part of a team, including other trades. The role involves working on commercial and residential HVAC systems and various refrigeration equipment.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, repair, and replace chillers, central air systems, window air conditioners, chillers, and refrigeration equipment.

• Adjust or replace worn or defective mechanisms and parts and reassemble repaired systems.

• Dismantle malfunctioning systems and test components using electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic testing equipment.

• Work as a team with heat mechanics in maintaining, servicing, and repairing HVAC equipment and boiler equipment, including water treatment.

• Service, repair, and rebuild pumps and compressors.

Work Environment

You will respond to HVAC equipment maintenance across campus. Depending on the time of the year and location, you can expect to work in hotter or colder conditions. The role requires the ability to bend, squat, climb, and lift, sometimes working in smaller spaces. The standard work hours are Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, with the possibility of rotating on-call duties if needed.

The pay range for this position is $29.00 - $36.00
