Inmate Project Coordinator:
Joining the Ada County Sheriff’s Office as a Inmate Project Coordinator (IPC) offers a critical opportunity to contribute to the efficient and safe operation of the Ada County Jail. In this role, you will assume responsibility for several key functions that are essential to maintaining a secure and orderly environment. As the Inmate Project Coordinator (IPC), you will oversee a comprehensive cleaning program, supervise inmate workers, maintain equipment, and ensure the facility remains spotless and secure.
Why This Role Matters: The Inmate Project Coordinator is integral to the smooth operation of our jail, ensuring that equipment within the jail facility is properly maintained. This includes regular inspections, troubleshooting issues, and coordinating repairs as needed. Your diligence in this area will directly impact the reliability and functionality of critical systems within the facility.
As the Inmate Project Coordinator, you will oversee a comprehensive cleaning program. This involves not only maintaining cleanliness but also ensuring that sanitation standards are rigorously upheld.
Managing inmate workers requires strong leadership and communication skills. You will oversee their work assignments, ensure compliance with safety protocols, and provide guidance as they assist in maintaining the facility.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, General Day Shift

Essential Functions
Key Responsibilities:
Tool & Supply Management:
Maintain meticulous records of tools and supplies to prevent loss or misuse.
Monitor and inventory cleaning supplies and equipment to ensure there are adequate supplies and equipment maintained for cleaning common areas and housing units.
Inspection & Safety:
Regularly inspect all areas to uphold cleanliness and safety standards.
Submit work orders or other processes to have equipment maintained and repaired.
Supervision & Training:
Lead and train inmate workers in proper cleaning protocols.
Supervise the work of assigned inmate workers and make sure they are properly trained on cleaning products and tools.
Maintain Cleaning/Painting Supplies:
Apply commercial cleaning and maintenance knowledge to various tasks.
Work with operations to maintain paint supplies for the jail.
Manage the jail chemical program for effective cleaning solutions.
Coordination:
Collaborate with command staff to schedule and execute cleaning projects safely.
Coordinate times for cleaning/painting projects with command staff to ensure the safety and security of the building.
Communication:
Keep housing deputies informed about inmate behavior and performance.
Address and resolve Inmate Request Forms (IRF) and grievances related to cleaning duties.
SDS Maintenance/Contract Management:
Keep Safety Data Sheets (SDS) binders updated across the facility.
Review and ensure accountability of contract cleaners’ work.
Job Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Supervisory experience preferred
Experience in commercial cleaning and maintenance preferred
Extensive knowledge of custodial practices and heavy-duty cleaning methods
Strong administrative and leadership skills
Familiarity with safety practices and infection control
Ability to train, supervise, and motivate a diverse group of inmate workers
Excellent conflict resolution and communication skills
Strong organizational and leadership skills.
Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively.
Flexibility to work night shifts and handle urgent situations.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
Physical tasks include climbing, bending, stooping, lifting up to 60 pounds, and continuous walking and standing
Frequent repetitive wrist, hand, and finger movements
