Job Title: Apprentice Mechanical Build Specialist

Position Summary: Responsible for leading high quality industrial and automation mechanical work, and effective machine mechanical build, debug, support, and start-up.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

· Report to the Mechanical Build Lead for project assignments and to report on daily activity progress and responsibilities.

· Proactively assessing work to be completed based on input from Project Manager, Engineering, and assigning/completing work within project constraints.

· Assist with packaging and shipment of assemblies and kits on projects.

· Work closely with the various GRG departments: engineering, build, installation, in machine building, debug, validation, and commission. Cradle to Grave.

· Consult with the Mechanical Build Lead, Engineering, Project Management, and customers to define the scope of projects and steps to achieve goals. Follow scope closely while communicating grey areas, issues, adherence to timing and updates.

· Follow safety practices as defined by GRG America and customers' site safety requirements.

· Work with controls and mechanical team to debug, support customer run off and tear down prior to shipment to customer sites.

· Work with controls and mechanical team to test and debug automation and electrical systems at customer sites for final acceptance.

· Document rework and communicate back to Engineering and Project Management teams.

· Aftermarket support for any emergency service or planned maintenance

· Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on installed equipment.

· Mechanical installation support as required and provide service reports for progress updates to the project team.

· Communicate with the assigned project team to ensure a constant level of project awareness and no hidden information.

· Prepare service/warranty and other reports for customers and internal distribution in a timely manner.

· Coordinate with the Documentation Department on a timely basis to ensure that all drawings, manuals, sequence of operation, and all electrical prints are kept current and correct.

· Ensure that all field operation work and /or upgrade documentation is updated on the network, in the correct project file location(s)

· CMM Parts and components to ensure they meet GRG quality

· Support staging, organization, and kitting of components

· Work with Mechanical, Electrical and Controls engineers with projects, perform product testing and commissioning

· Deliver GRG components to various job locations as needed

· Perform various shop upkeep tasks; cleaning, inventory, check in components, and staging

 

Job requirements:

· Entry level expierence (1 year)

· Efficiently organize and plan work tasks to meet company goals.

· Critical thinking with exceptional problem-solving skills, able to work independently and in team environments.

· Proactive, resourceful & highly motivated with good communication skills and ability to work in high output environment. Ability to balance multiple objectives and prioritize accordingly

· Basic computer skills including using Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

· Travel domestic and internationally as required to support projects.
