Description
We are working a client offering an exciting opportunity in northern Mississippi for an Assistant Controller. This role is integral to our team, playing a pivotal part in handling daily accounting functions and supervising the accounting group. The Assistant Controller will also be involved in close interactions with various departments within the organization, including Management and Executive teams.
Responsibilities:
• Supervise, mentor, and motivate the accounting group to ensure efficient operations.
• Handle day-to-day accounting functions, maintaining the accuracy and efficiency of financial records.
• Ensure accurate and timely processing of travel, MRO, and inventory payables.
• Oversee the completion of accounts reconciliation and analytical reports.
• Manage the month-end-closing cycle, including preparation and review of various journal entries, analysis of key accounts, and reporting results to the Controller.
• Monitor and review department expenditures and compare actual results to budget.
• Ensure compliance in fixed assets and taxes – Use, Sales, Payroll.
• Prepare and review executive financial comments.
• Initiate process improvements and provide assistance with special projects.
Requirements • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar role
• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
• Experience with ADP - Financial Services is a must
• Familiarity with Concur and Crystal Reports
• Understanding of DCAA requirements
• Extensive knowledge of accounting functions
• Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Proven track record in auditing
• Experience in billing functions
• Proficiency in SAP and SAP S/4HANA
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
• Experience in a manufacturing company is highly desirable
• Understanding of manufactured products and their cost
• Knowledge of manufacturing cost accounting
• Experience in a manufacturing facility is a plus
• Proven experience in managing annual operating budget
• Familiarity with budget allocations and handling budget constraints
• Experience in budgeting and forecasting in a manufacturing environment
