About the Job
The Process Engineer’s role is to maintain and improve operational productivity and efficiency at the Calera facility. Observe, trend, and report operator and plant performance. Minimize risks by enhancing reliability.
Evaluate kiln performance bottlenecks
Propose projects to improve production
Develop and plan long term initiatives to improve sustainability.
Monitor control room computer-based systems.
Complete requests for downtime and capital equipment requests.
Program and maintain production preventative maintenance.
Complete safety walkarounds and audits – completing paperwork related to these
Attend team meetings
Troubleshoot coal feeder, kiln exhaust gas analyzer, fan outages, etc.
Conduct calibrations with Argos of stone belt weights
Employees are expected to perform other responsibilities as needed.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field required.
Experience: 1-3 years of job-related experience required.
Certifications: Related industrial certifications a plus.
Licenses: Valid Driver’s License required.
Knowledge: MSHA compliance and regulations, preventative and corrective maintenance, and process improvements required.
Skills: Computer skills, troubleshooting skills and kiln operating required.
Abilities: Ability to monitor screens and make changes based on production needs, and train as needed.
Behaviors: Strong communication with internal and external individuals, team player, and able to work with little to no supervision.
