Posting Summary | The Business Manager III Spvr reports to the Senior Vice Chancellor for Finance & Administration at Rutgers University-Camden (RU-C) with a dotted-line reporting relationship to the Dean of the School of Business at Rutgers University-Camden (SBC). This position is responsible for the overall effective operations of the business functions of the school and works closely with the Dean, academic administration, and school faculty and staff to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of general business processes related to accounting, budgeting, expense management, procurement, as well as human resource management and payroll. In addition, the Business Manager III, works in cooperation with the Senior Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration and the Dean of the SBC to forecast, develop and manage the school's operating budget, develop, and manage routine reports related to the budget and financial and business resources (may be monthly, quarterly or annually), and will assume responsibility for safeguarding SBC and university assets and communicating with a wide variety of stakeholders regarding the SBC, both internally and externally. The Business Manager III Spvr will be responsible to maintain an understanding of all University policies and procures related to finance, human resource and operations management and will work closely with many campus partners to provide leadership within the SBC. Typically, the incumbent will work closely and grow relationships with the RU-C Budget & Finance Office, including Student Accounting, the Office of Research (particularly post-award functions), Financial Aid, Shared Services, and Human Resources. In addition, the Business Manager III may work closely with university partners in various finance, human resource, and operations management departments at the central level of the university, including but not limited to the University Controller, Internal Audit, Procurement, Payroll, Institutional Planning and Operations, and other related teams. In addition, the Business Manager III requires an ability to interpret and educate colleagues within the SBC on the policies and procedures as noted, and has a responsibility to ensure that the faculty and staff in the school are knowledgeable and compliant as appropriate. The Business Manager III Spvr will work with minimal supervision and call upon resources as needed to produce professional work, including reports and presentations, that will require specialized knowledge in finance/accounting; he/she will need to demonstrate a specialized knowledge of the mission and goals, strategies, and organizational structure of the SBC and Rutgers University-Camden. The Business Manager III will also contribute significantly to data management and reporting that supports the accreditation process of the SBC. The Business Manager III will have direct reports that he/she is responsible to train and develop, and routinely delegate work, and will be responsible to manage staff performance effectively. |

Minimum Education and Experience | Requires a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business management, or related field and a minimum of five years of directly relevant work experience in a finance or accounting function and demonstrates progressively higher levels of leadership and management skills. The incumbent must demonstrate excellent communication and collaborative skills, and must have strong computer literacy skills. Knowledge of GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles) is required. |
