Sr Advanced Windows Software Engineer
Cannonsburg, PA
Contract Position
$65.99-$70.99/Hour
Contribute to a company at the forefront of mission-critical systems and technologies in defense and security. This leader in global defense integrates advanced technology to deliver information and insights on the battlefield, offering roles that support security and technological superiority across multiple domains.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, test, and integrate software applications for current and next-generation torpedo guidance and control systems for the Department of Defense.
Provide engineering expertise in diagnostics and debugging of existing code to ensure high reliability and performance for deployment.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve software and system issues while recommending and implementing solutions.
Document software development processes, including test plans, design documentation, and maintenance of design requirements.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with 8+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 6+ years of relevant experience.
Clearance Requirements:
Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Clearance.
Experience and Skills:
Proficiency with C/C++, object-oriented development, and Windows application development (Win32, WPF, WinUI 3).
Experience with software design patterns (e.g., MVVM, MVP) and Windows kernel-level debugging using tools such as Windows DDK or WinDBG.
Hands-on experience with National Instruments LabWindows/CVI, MATLAB, Visual Studio, and SQL/SQL Server.
Strong understanding of Windows low-level systems development, APIs, and software architecture decisions.
Experience with DevOps practices (version control, branching strategies, automated build/test/deploy) and Agile/Lean software development principles.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with communication protocols (GPIB, RS232, SPI) and interfacing with hardware devices (PXI, CRIO, CDAQ).
Proficiency in using lab equipment like oscilloscopes, DMMs, and spectrum analyzers.
