Description

We are seeking a Corporate Tax Sr Manager based in Charlotte, North Carolina. This role involves managing and coordinating taxation compliance, reporting, and inquiries in a corporate setting. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of tax law and be capable of conducting thorough research to inform company policies and transactions.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the preparation of corporate income and franchise tax compliance and reporting.

• Oversee coordination and resolution of taxing authority inquiries, audits, and other notices as required.

• Review and maintain tax return/provision work papers to substantiate book/tax differences, tax return positions taken, apportionment factors, etc.

• Collaborate with other departments to ensure necessary tax information is collected and appropriate tax methods are implemented.

• Stay up-to-date on applicable tax law and assess company policies to ensure compliance with tax legislation.

• Conduct research and provide advice on proposed transactions and their tax consequences.

• Proactively research and plan to minimize the company's income and franchise tax liabilities.

• Identify and implement process improvements and automation throughout the tax reporting and filing process for efficiency gains.

• Develop proficiency in utilizing the company’s ERP and OneStream consolidation software.

• Assist in maintaining internal controls and record retention policies to comply with SOX and government regulations.

• Assist on special projects as necessary.

Requirements

• Must have a minimum of 7 years of experience in a corporate tax role, preferably in a leadership position

• Strong understanding and experience with various accounting functions

• Demonstrated knowledge of corporate income tax and corporate tax return procedures

• Proficient in income tax accounting and income tax provision

• Experience in ensuring compliance with tax regulations and laws

• Ability to develop and implement tax strategies aligned with business goals

• Excellent communication and leadership skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required; advanced degree or certification (e.g., CPA, MBA) is preferred

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
