Job Description
As a General Production Worker, you will be responsible for moving full and empty totes, setting up tote pumping, and operating a sit-down propane forklift. You will manage the pumping of contents between totes and storage tanks, load tanks and totes manually, and assist operators with prep and batch work. This role requires documenting all orders, staging necessary ingredients, and calculating batch sizes. You will work with drums and totes, fill products into totes and drums, and handle various housekeeping duties. Flexibility is essential, as you may need to switch between packaging and formulation tasks as needed.
Responsibilities
Move full and empty totes
Set up and handle pumps, hoses, and lance for tote pumping
Pump contents from totes to storage tanks, and vice versa
Operate a sit-down propane forklift
Load tanks and totes manually
Climb tankers if necessary
Connect pumps and hoses, monitor filling
Assist operators with prep work and batch work
Document all orders
Stage necessary ingredients for batches
Calculate batch sizes
Work with drums and totes
Fill products into totes and drums
Perform housekeeping duties, including sweeping, mopping, and taking out trash
Salt parking lot when it snows
Switch between packaging and formulation tasks as needed

Essential Skills
Experience with forklift operations
Experience with pumps, hoses, and filling
Ability to perform multiple jobs and work in multiple areas
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Manufacturing experience
Wearing steel toe boots
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experince in chemical, oil, or food manufacturing
Ability to perform repetitive motions

Work Environment
The Alsip Facility is modern, clean, and temperature controlled, with a small workforce of 10-15 people on the 1st shift. It has been remodeled in the last 10 years and is highly organized. The Chicago Heights Facility is older but still temperature controlled and organized, with a larger workforce and more production lines. Both facilities focus on safety and provide secure work environments with checkpoints and multiple break rooms. The chemicals used are not harmful, and operations include manufacturing, bottling, staging, and shipping products.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chicago heights Illinois
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.25 - $19.25/hr.
