Location: This is a remote position preferrably in the Midwest/ Central Region.

Job Summary:

The Broker Sales Manager is responsible for managing the customer/category day to day operations while delivering sales and profitability targets for their account base. Maximize the availability of our products in the appropriate channels of distribution consistent with our brand strategy with an emphasis on superior new product execution. Execute commercial driven strategies for their customers that enable Newell to achieve best in class results. Utilize leading edge data, information systems, and metrics around financial, brand, and customer trends to maximize market share, sales, and profits through price optimization for Newell Brands and our customers. Build customer relationships at the regional and sales manager and facilitates connectivity in other functional areas including Marketing, Supply Chain, Communications and Operations. Deliver results while maintaining the highest level of integrity. Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage broker team that calls on multiple wholesale and retail customers. Drive the Broker HQ Selling Team to deliver sales and profitability targets.

  • Manage multiple national brands in several categories (Food Storage, Fresh Preserving, Cookware/Bakeware, Vacuum Sealing, Home Fragrance & Kitchen Appliances)

  • Build account relationships at the Buyer/Category Manager level with connectivity in other functional areas

  • Executes company and account strategies within region

  • Use data, information systems, and metrics around financial, brand, and customer trends to maximize market share, sales, and profits

  • Develop and execute Customer & Category Strategic Development and annual operating plan

  • Negotiate and manage trade funds to create customer and company value by consistently measuring and enforcing trade terms and identifying opportunities for improvement

  • Works with demand planning to develop accurate sales forecasts and achieve specified levels of forecast accuracy

  • Monitor the competitors' brands and products as well as our market share, competitor market share, and target market share to understand end-user trends and opportunities while communicating to appropriate sales, Customer Strategy & Planning and Brand Management teams

  • Works with Newell’s Customer Strategy & Planning Team to implement methods that assist our customers in effectively and creatively winning with consumers, end-users, and purchasers through promotions, packaging and merchandising

Requirements:

  • Bachelors/University degree

  • 5+ years sales and/or trade experience B2B preferred

  • Persuasive / Sales Ability / Negotiation Skills

  • Relationship management within account and end user

  • Experience managing a minimum $10M book of business

  • Ability to execute customer meetings and trade shows

  • Background in dealing with selling “the bag” of multiple brands across many categories

  • Solid experience with syndicated data (Nielsen, IRI)

  • Strong personnel management skills

  • Self-motivated with acute attention to detail and exceptional drive for results

  • Advanced skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and Teams

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; must be able to present data in an organized manner

  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously

  • Conflict Management/Composure; Technical Knowledge

  • 35% to 50% Travel
