The IT Project Manager is responsible for the planning, execution, and oversight of the successful implementation initiatives within the Information Technology organization. This role will be responsible for coordinating cross-functional teams, managing the job scope, timelines, and budget while ensuring that deliverables meet business objectives and quality standards.
Primary Responsibilities:
Lead the development of IT strategies aligned with the business goals, ensuring innovative solutions for long-term growth and efficiency.
Facilitate clear and consistent communication, including status reports, risk assessments, and issue resolution.
Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze and define business requirements and processes, ensuring IT solutions meet business operational needs.
Analyze project proposals to determine time frame, funding limitations and appropriate process for accomplishing projects.
Identify and schedule project deliverables, milestones, and required activities and tasks.
Provide leadership and motivation to project team members throughout the project life cycle, and confer with project staff to outline a work plan.
Establish a work plan and staffing for project activities, iterations or phases, and arrange for recruitment or assignment of project personnel.
Direct and coordinate the activities of project personnel to ensure that projects progress on schedule and within budget.
Ability to plan, track and document various project information including requirements documentation, business rules, project milestones, issues, risks and action items.
Benchmark project management performance continuously to identify the potential for improvements and increase capability in project and portfolio management.
Work Environment: This position offers the flexibility of a hybrid schedule with the expectation of 3 days per week in our Chicago office, and 2 days remote from home.
Qualifications
Knowledge and Experience:
3+ years of experience in IT and business/industry.
Strong collaboration, teamwork and relationship building skills across multiple levels and functions in the organization.
Exceptional ability to lead change using positive and collaborative methods.
Skilled at conflict resolution and problem-solving to achieve win-win outcomes.
Ability to communicate technical or complex subject matter in business terms.
An outside-in focus: outstanding end-customer relationship skills.
Skilled at creating business requirements documents, use cases, user acceptance test plans, process flow and data flow diagrams.
Ability to adapt to new circumstances in a changing business environment.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Strong knowledge and understanding of business needs, with the ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence.
Demonstrated ability to develop IT policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with industry standards and regulatory frameworks.
Highly self-motivated and accepts ownership and accountability for success.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or related field (or equivalent work experience).
