The Perlman Center provides evidence-based therapies in a group setting with a multi-disciplinary team (early intervention through pre-school age, and some school-age small groups), and also provides a wide range of specialty assistive technology evaluations and treatment. Specialty services include evaluations and treatment for: adaptive equipment and complex rehab technology (CRT), Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC- in coordination with SLP), computer access, upper extremity supports, environmental controls, Cerebral Visual Impairment (CVI), adapted play, and aquatic therapy. The Perlman Center is recruiting an Occupational Therapist that will: * Perform assessments, treatment planning, and implement treatment using evidence-based interventions. * Modify plan of care as needed in response to patient progress. * Facilitate carry over of progress through development of home programs. * Communicate and collaborate with team therapists, support staff, providers, patient, caregivers, and/or parents. * Perform according to the AOTA Code of Ethics and appropriate legal and departmental requirements for the practice of OT during treatment, documentation, billing, and communication. Schedule & Location: This job will work Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm, out of Main Hospital and Mason Outpatient. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES * Fiscal Responsibility- Understands the need for individual productivity targets and works proactively with supervisor(s) to establish a reasonable target based upon departmental need and assigned non-reimbursable activities. Continuously self- monitors performance in the area of productivity and develops an action plan when target is not being met. Accurately completes charges daily following departmental guidelines regarding coding and charging. Proactively works with schedulers, supervisor(s), and peers to insure that time created by no shows, cancellations, and/or low census is used efficiently and productively and that departmental needs are being met. Contributes to the development of systems/processes to improve therapists' ability to effectively and routinely meet target and serves as a mentor to others in the area of revenue generation. Makes recommendations for improving means of capturing revenue and suggests development of new revenue producing initiatives. * Clinical Knowledge and Skills- Performs assessments and treatment planning, and implements treatment utilizing advanced knowledge of normal development and information from appropriate resources. Investigates new evaluations and/or treatment approaches and educates others as appropriate. Demonstrates flexibility and creativity while managing complex patient care and other departmental activities.
