CITY OF COLUMBIA Equipment Operator - 955/Landfill in Columbia, Missouri
The City of Columbia Landfill is hiring a Medium-Heavy Equipment Operator.
Were looking for a skilled operator to join our team and help with landfill operations. If you have experience with medium to heavy equipment and are interested in a stable, hands-on role, wed love to hear from you!
HOURS: Monday - Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with occasional Saturdays 8 a.m.-2 p.m.
DISTINGUISHING
CHARACTERISTICS Positions assigned to the City Utilities Department are required to maintain a telephone and
permanent residence within 50 road miles of City Hall, 701 E. Broadway, Columbia, MO, within 90 days of hire.
Knowledge of:
Standard practices, methods, materials, tools, and equipment of trades.
Safety standards and precautions pertaining to operations and maintenance of a variety of equipment and tools.
Columbia geography and streets.
Skill in:
Operating motorized equipment, including heavy construction equipment, and hand/power tools.
Communicating verbally and in writing to meet the needs of the audience.
Applying active listening and asking questions for understanding.
Ability to:
Read and follow written and oral directions.
Work independently and as a member of a team.
Maintain accurate records.
Provide positive and effective customer service.
Recognize, analyze and solve a variety of problems.
