Job Description: Speech-Language Pathologist (School Setting)
Position Title: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our educational team. The SLP will provide evaluation, intervention, and support services to students with communication disorders that impact their academic success and social interactions. The ideal candidate will collaborate with educators, families, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans to help students reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
Assessment and Diagnosis:
Conduct comprehensive evaluations to identify speech, language, voice, fluency, and communication disorders.
Interpret assessment results to determine students' needs and eligibility for services.
Write detailed evaluation reports that meet compliance standards.
Intervention and Therapy:
Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with identified needs.
Provide direct and indirect therapy services in individual or group settings.
Adapt intervention strategies to align with the diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds of students.
Collaboration:
Work closely with teachers, parents, and support staff to integrate therapy goals into classroom activities.
Serve as a member of the multidisciplinary IEP team.
Provide training and resources to educators and families on communication strategies.
Compliance and Documentation:
Maintain accurate and timely records of therapy sessions, progress notes, and communication with stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district regulations, including IDEA and FERPA.
Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to ongoing progress monitoring.
Professional Development:
Stay updated on the latest research, tools, and techniques in speech-language pathology.
Attend workshops, conferences, and in-service training sessions as required.
Qualifications:
Education: Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders.
Licensure/Certification:
Valid state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist (or eligibility to obtain licensure).
Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA (preferred).
State Department of Education certification (if required).
Experience: Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting is preferred but not required.
Skills:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations.
Proficient in data collection, analysis, and documentation.
Work Environment:
Primarily based in a school setting, including classrooms, therapy rooms, and offices.
May involve travel between schools within the district.
