How you make a difference
Make a Difference in Patient Care as a Nurse Assistant (non-certified)!
Are you eager to start your healthcare career and make a meaningful impact? As a Nurse Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in providing essential care under the guidance of a licensed nurse. You’ll collaborate with the healthcare team to plan and implement patient care activities, all while ensuring the safety and well-being of individuals served.
After completing a general orientation, you’ll be assigned to residential units, clinics, or infirmaries, where your hands-on support will ensure high-quality nursing care is consistently delivered. This is your chance to gain valuable experience and contribute to a compassionate, patient-centered environment.
Key Responsibilities
Vital Signs and Measurements Take vitals (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiration) as instructed by nursing staff, and record intake and output, height, and weight as required.
Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) Assist individuals with ADLs such as bathing, grooming, dressing, ambulation, and toileting. In the infirmary, may assist with medical interventions, including emergency room procedures.
Routine Lab Sample Collection Obtain routine lab samples as needed, without requiring laboratory employees.
Support with Medical Equipment Assist individuals with treatment-related equipment such as oxygen therapy, and help them move, transfer, or transport to other departments for tests or treatments.
Safety and Hazard Prevention Observe surroundings for potential hazards, taking action to remove any that could cause accidents.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education:
- Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
- Preferred: Nursing assistant experience.
Certifications:
- Preferred: Current certification to practice as a nursing assistant in the state of practice.
