PURPOSE
The Harte Research Institute (HRI) at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Program Specialist II to support the Nurdle Patrol Program. This position will assist in coordinating outreach efforts, managing program logistics, and ensuring efficient reporting and organization of key events.
DESCRIPTION
Functional Area 1: Operations
Percent Effort: 33.33%
Assist with the planning, organization, and implementation of the annual Texas Plastic Pollution Symposium (TPSS), including managing student stipends
Assemble and distribute Nurdle Patrol starter kits for partner organizations and teachers.
Functional Area 2: Program Administration
Percent Effort: 33.33%
Prepare and manage required financial documentation, including the quarterly Financial Report, Financial Addendum, Expense by Task Report, and Progress Report.
Attends meetings and conferences to discuss the progress of assigned programs.
Functional Area 3: Support
Percent Effort: 33.33%
Promote Nurdle Patrol at workshops and training sessions, assisting with event coordination and travel logistics.
Coordinates specialized program communications and marketing materials.
Provides and coordinates advanced professional level administrative support to programs and may assign duties for the Nurdle Patrol Program.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in applicable field
Two years of related experience
Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills
Maintains attention to detail and utilizes sound judgment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of (3) years of experience working with the Nurdle Patrol Program
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Strong communications skills for outreach and partnerships development
Interest in environmental conservation and plastic pollution issues.
Note: This position will have a hybrid work arrangement.
This position is grant-funded. Continued employment is contingent upon continued funding.
SALARY: Up to $64,000/annually, approximately.
$5,333.33 /monthly.
