We are looking for highly motivated and passionate engineer to evaluate location and navigation user experience on the latest iPhone, Watch & iPad products, and influence program decisions with engineering expertise. Description
You will be involved in GNSS validation of Apple products from early prototype stages to post release phase, and proposing changes for groundbreaking technologies developed at Apple with focused experiments and real-world engineering analysis to enhance overall end user location and navigation experience. Responsibilities include: - Develop and run GNSS/Location test plan with focus on customer experience for location and navigation use cases - Generate system performance test reports with key performance indicators, highlight top issues and provide succinct data-driven summary to senior management - Perform deep dive GNSS analysis of HW/SW/System issues including but not limited to Measurement Engine (ME), Position Engine (PE) - Influence program decisions by driving with data and deep engineering expertise - Collaborate with cross-functional partners and 3rd party vendors throughout the project cycle - Work with team members and 3rd party vendors spread across various time zones.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Geomatics Engineering
3+ years of industry experience in GNSS, Location or Wireless technologies
Key Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
Passionate about GPS/GNSS/Location/radio-navigation technologies and solid understanding of one of GNSS systems (e.g.: GPS)
Strong experience in analyzing and debugging GNSS/Location issues. Able to perform dynamic data analysis using standalone or cloud-based analytics tools
Proven record of test plan creation and execution
Excited and quick to learn new areas in GNSS and other RF/wireless technologies
Hands-on experience with GNSS/GPS test equipment such as ground truth, simulators and RF record and replay systems
Experience in MATLAB, Python, Shell
Strong individual contributor with excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
