Job Title: Welder
Job Description
Our Client specializes in the manufacture, sale, and service of aerial devices, digger derricks, cranes, and specialty equipment for various industries including electric utility, telecommunications, tree care, construction, and light and sign maintenance in more than 120 countries. They have recently expanded operations to increase production by over 50%. Currently, they are in need of MIG welders.
Responsibilities
Read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols to determine sequence and methods of assembling components.
Read and interpret work orders.
Use basic hand tools such as tape measurer and specialty equipment.
Learn and operate all equipment within the work area (cell).
Perform rework as required.
Support APS (Our Client Production System) initiatives and may participate in RCI events.
Move to other work areas to support production needs (Cross-train).
Lay out and mark dimensions and reference lines on material, applying knowledge of shop math and layout techniques.
Perform MIG welding using a variety of arc and gas welding equipment.
Inspect assembly/components for conformance with specifications.
Trim, file, grind, sand, deburr, buff, and smooth surfaces using hand tools and portable power tools.
Train new/current associates.
Follow established safety, environmental, and quality policies, procedures, and guidelines in the work area and shop tools/equipment.
Maintain daily time records.
Perform other job duties as assigned; duties may vary by location.
Essential Skills
High School Diploma/GED required.
Vocational training is desired.
AWS D.1.1 weld certification required.
Ability to read, write, and comprehend required.
Basic computer usage knowledge required.

Work Environment
Manufacturing/production environment that is not climate controlled. The workplace is fast-paced and performance-driven. The dress code includes plain colored T-Shirts (preferably blue or grey), jeans, and steel-toe boots. Shifts available are: First Shift (6:30am - 3:00pm), Second Shift (3:15pm - 11:45pm), and Third Shift. Employees may be required to work overtime and up to three Saturdays per month.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of DALEVILLE, Virginia.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.27 - $25.77/hr.
