Job Title: Cost EstimatorJob Description
As a Cost Estimator, you will analyze the validity of automotive supplier part pricing and tooling uplift requests in a service environment. You will assess changes in manufacturing processes, volume impact, and inflation to calculate a should cost. You will explain cost changes to internal and external stakeholders with competing agendas. You will need to understand various manufacturing processes and how the switch from high volume to low volume impacts costs, including stamping, machining, injection molding, casting, wire harness, and assembly. You will calculate, analyze, and adjust estimates considering efficiency, floorspace, and inflation impact on labor and burden rates. You will define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions, and you will need strong verbal and written communication skills. Operating in a grey space environment with minimal direction and multiple projects, you will work with internal combustion engines and all commodities, transitioning to BEVs in the next five years. You will be responsible for working across multiple commodities to organize and analyze data sets to tell a story.
