As a Mental Health Counselor you will provide direct resident care under the supervision of clinical staff.
Shift/Hours: Full-time and Part-time positions available. Shifts: Day shift (7am - 3:30pm), Evening shift (3pm - 11:30pm) and Night shift (11pm - 7:30am) with rotating weekends.

Responsibilities Include:
Providing a safe and therapeutic milieu by monitoring residents and redirecting behaviors.
Assisting residents through the admission process, including bag searches, required paperwork, and orientating new patients to the unit.
Establishing therapeutic relationships with residents and providing resident care within Walden policies, philosophies, and objectives.
Observing residents, documenting daily resident notes.
Supervising meals/snacks and providing re-direction to residents, as needed.
Precise preparation of adolescent snacks and meals.
Providing supervision and guidance in preparation of adult resident meals.
Participating in community meetings, group therapies, education and social activities on the unit.
Helping facilitate group therapy session, including but not limited to DBT, CBT, Body Image, etc.
Communicating effectively with residents’ treatment teams to ensure the highest quality of resident care.
Conducting daily resident weigh-ins.
Completing call assignments as designated by clinical staff.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree preferred, High School diploma required
Licensure/Certification:
- Current CPR Certification
Knowledge:
- Must possess knowledge of psychiatric group process, therapeutic relationships processes, age specific growth and development, limit setting and behavior management, crisis management with aggressive behaviors.

Ability to multi-task in a changing and fast paced mental health environment
Ability to work in a highly collaborate, team environment
