Delta County Control Room Technician in Delta, Colorado

POSITION: Control Room Technician

Maintain the security of the jail to contribute to the welfare of the inmates and protection of deputies. The Control Room Technician is to control the movement of prisoners and deputies within different parts of the jail. The control room technician monitors the goings-on in various parts of the facility through video and audio monitors.

DUTIES: * Maintain security and welfare by scanning the video monitor system constantly. * Observe and communicate with inmates and deputies, preventing escape or riot, enforce all laws, rules, procedures and regulations of the detention center through control center responsibilities. * Be alert and aware. The Control Room Technician must be aware of any irregularities in the jail that may present a danger to the inmates or staff. They must be able to respond quickly to send appropriate assistance to areas to assist in any emergency. * Provide for the personal and hygienic welfare of the inmates through control center communications. * Communicate transport/movement of inmates with deputies, in a secured status as directed by the courts, deputies and other outside agencies. * Log and document all detention center happenings including disruptions, inmate status, property records, medical records and behavior issues. * Manage inmate records including but not limited to files and maintenance of documentation. * Ability and willingness to work shifts, weekends and holidays, if needed.

REQUIREMENTS: * A high school diploma or GED equivalent; corrections/detention courses from an accredited college preferred. * Minimum of two (2) years administrative, communication, and computer experience required; must have a valid Colorado Driver's License and acquire a Notary Public Certification; incumbent must work with tact and profes * Employee must have the ability to be certified by the Colorado Crime Information Center to access the National Crime Information Center and the International Justice and Public Safety Network Information Systems. * Combination of education and experience may waive specific requirement. * Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check.

Licenses/Certifications: * Current and valid Colorado Driver's License * Self Defense Training * Notary Public Certification * CPR Certification * First Aid Certification * Colorado Crime Information Center (CCIC) to access the National Crime Information Center (NCIC)

WAGE: $21.05/ hourly

SHIFT: Full time - 40 hours per week
