Heavy equipment lube service tech performs mobile on project site daily fueling and lube services, operational checks, and minor preventive maintenance services on a variety of heavy construction equipment. What you will be doing
Travel to worksites for daily scheduled fueling and lubrication services on all field equipment and construction machinery. Gathers data from machines such as Hour Meter Readings, Fuel Quantity Pumped, Oil Products added by the quart or by the gallon, Quantity of Waste Oils or Coolant disposed. Completes preventative maintenance work orders on a wide variety of heavy equipment including Ag Tractors, Backhoes, Bull dozers, Compaction Equipment, Cranes, Dump Trucks, Excavators, Lowboy Tractors, Scrapers, Skidsteers, Telehandlers/Reach Fork-lifts and Wheel loaders. Inspects equipment and documents problems for planning future repair and lubrication work. Keeps accurate records and inputs data into equipment data base for establishing oil change intervals. Assist Mobile Heavy equipment mechanics with repair work as needed. Develop daily Job Hazard Analysis and follow Flatiron Construction Corp. safety policies and procedures. Maintains accurate lube truck, equipment inspections and service logs in accordance with US DOT requirements. Complies will all applicable US DOT rules and regulations. Complies with all applicable environmental laws and regulations regarding recycling and disposal of all construction waste materials. Records quantity disposed and keeps a history file on method of disposal as a company record. Complies with applicable OSHA regulations regarding work practices, tool maintenance, equipment, and personal protective equipment. Keeps accurate lube records Reads and understands manufactures equipment service manuals. Assist with putting together a project equipment lube schedules, creating an oil sampling program, and daily data entry of lube service records preferred. Ability to operate a Lube truck and drive on and off-road between project sites. Ability to operate all the lube truck distribution functions for Air, Coolant, Fuels, Grease, and Oil from the lube truck to a piece of equipment and or machinery. Willingness to teach, train and develop Flatiron's mechanics helper and or summer interns. Performs additional assignments per management's direction.
What we are looking for
Current Class B CDL Commercial Driver's License Tanker / Hazmat Endorsement. Safe driving record to be able to drive Company vehicles required. Minimum of 12 months of maintenance experience required. Experience as a heavy equipment Lube Service Tech preferred. Experience with servicing trucks and heavy equipment such as Ag Tractors, Backhoes, Bull Dozers, Compaction Equipment, Cranes, Dump Trucks, Excavators, Lowboy Tractors, Scrapers, Skidsteers, Telehandlers / Reach Fork-lifts, and Wheel Loaders. Ability to manage time, work independently, multi-task, and manage stress. Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with all project personnel, suppliers, and subcontractors. High School Diploma or equivalent preferred Willing to work a flexible schedule, including nightshift, weekends, holidays as required to support all project requirements.
