Description

Under general supervision, oversees the functions involved in the service, repair, transport and storage of election equipment and supplies, and performs difficult and responsible related clerical work.

Examples of Duties

  • Implement assignments and devise specific procedures in order to achieve results.

  • Supervise the activities of technicians engaged in the service, repair and set-up of computerized voting equipment and devices.

  • Supervise the activities of storekeeping staff in the ordering, maintaining, stocking, storing and computerized tracking of election operating supplies.

  • Ensure computerized election equipment is tested and functioning properly.

  • Ensure election operating supplies such as official ballots, envelopes, and Absentee Voter items are properly ordered, stocked and inventoried.

  • Repair voting and tabulation devices, voting signs and ballot boxes.

  • Install, test and seal computerized data collection equipment.

  • Supervise the activities of workers in the transport and delivery of computerized voting equipment, voting devices and other polling location supplies.

  • Supervise the activities of workers in the preparation of test ballot decks for polling precincts and Absentee Ballot precincts.

  • Supervise the activities of workers in the preparation of supply lists and boxes for all of the various Election Day operations.

  • Schedules work and adjusts assignments as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

Qualifications (required):

  • High School graduation or equivalent GED.

  • Three (3) years of specific election experience involving the use, service, repair, transport and storage of election materials, supplies and equipment in a large municipality.

Additional points may be awarded for:

  • Veteran Points: 0 – 15 points

RETIREMENT BENEFITS

City Employees Retirement System

As a regular City employee you automatically become a member of the General Retirement System. This entitles you to a retirement allowance after:

• Completion of thirty (30) years of service;

  • At age sixty (60) if you have at least ten (10) years of service, or

  • At age sixty-five (65) with eight (8) years of service.

• In the event of disability, other eligibility rules apply);

  • An early, actuarially reduced, retirement is offered after you have attained at least twenty-five (25) years of service;

• Employees are vested after ten (10) years of service, regardless of age.
