Position Summary

The Department of Economics at Michigan State University in East Lansing seeks applications for a tenure system faculty position with an expected start date of August 16, 2024. The successful candidate will conduct research, teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, mentor students, and perform service to the Department, the University, and the profession. The Department is interested in candidates who will contribute to diversity and equal opportunity in higher education through their teaching, research, and service.
The primary search is for an environmental / natural resource / energy economist at the assistant level, but a candidate at the associate level may be considered if the record of scholarship is exceptionally strong.
Application reviews will begin September 21, 2023, and continue until a suitable candidate is identified. Candidates at the associate level are strongly encouraged to apply by September 21. Candidates at the assistant level are encouraged to apply by October 31.

Doctorate -Environmental / Natural Resources / Energy Economist
Minimum Requirements
Applicants should hold a PhD in economics or related field or be expected to complete such a PhD before the start date. Applicants should be committed to teaching and research of the highest quality.
