Accounts Payable and Payroll Specialist

Job Responsibilities:

Payroll:

  • Oversee the accuracy of bi-weekly time sheets.

  • Process and communicate accurately with G & A regarding any payroll adjustments.

  • Maintain accurate, orderly, and confidential payroll files.

  • Manage additions, deletions, and changes in the On-Shift scheduling system.

  • Prepare various month-end payroll entries.

  • Reconcile all payroll (and related) balance sheet general ledger accounts.

  • Perform monthly analysis of payroll-related general ledger accounts.

  • Handle ad hoc payroll requests as needed.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Accounts Payable:

  • Code, journalize, and process invoices, petty cash, debit, and credit card transactions for payments, verifying documentation for accuracy.

  • Process payments made to vendors, including check printing and processing.

  • Monitor A/P aging report, analyze, and follow up with the VP of Finance on overdue payments.

  • Coordinate and complete the monthly A/P process, including any journal entries, account reconciliations, and special reporting.

  • Assist with foster parent payments, including review of data entry and processing of ACH transactions and maintenance of FP direct deposit information.

  • Reconcile Accounts Payable to sub-ledger accounts monthly.

  • Assist with the preparation of monthly Financial Statements.

  • Assist with the annual audit.

  • Monitor and process positive pay exceptions.

  • Serve as a backup for accounts receivable functions.

  • File all payables and payroll documents as required.

  • Analytical: Collects and researches data, uses intuition and experience to complement data.

  • Problem Solving: Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner, gathers and analyzes information skillfully, develops alternative solutions, uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics.

  • Customer Service: Manages difficult vendor/client situations effectively.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.50/hr.
