Job Title: Machine Operator
Job Description
Setup and run printing press or high-speed technical machinery, focusing on time-saving practices to limit downtime and setup times. Ensure a quality product is being released to customers.
Responsibilities
Setup and operate a high-speed printing press machine.
Work with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety.
Limit scrap waste, deliver waste to the proper department when the scrap truck is full, and accurately tag for waste reporting.
Collect top and bottom sheets (dunnage) to expedite the converting process.
Practice good lockout/tagout procedures.
Follow reporting processes for accurate completion of production paperwork and CTI/HRMS.
Mount die boards, assist in the setup of the machine, and keep the machine running.
Read and understand production order copies for every production run, assisting the operator in ensuring quality.
Understand machine mechanical functionality and conduct in-depth cleaning of the press when scheduled.
Essential Skills
2 years of high-speed package operating experience.
Ability to accurately read a measuring tape and ruler, and use basic shop math.
Ability to work in a high-speed packaging environment, package, and label.
Work with a sense of urgency without jeopardizing attention to detail/quality.
Comfortable with lifting up to 60 lbs. throughout the day.

Proven attendance record validated through references.

Work Environment
Our new 550,000 square foot facility is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and 26 dock doors. Although not climate-controlled, the facility is well-ventilated. Safety gear including steel toes, safety vests, glasses, ear protection, and hard hats are required. The spacious facility requires candidates to be comfortable on their feet. Shifts are currently 1st shift from 5:45 am to 2:00 pm, with plans to expand to 2nd and 3rd shifts by August 2023. Expect to work 50-hour weeks with potential for overtime.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elgin, Illinois.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
