Job Title: Printing Press Operator
Job Summary: Responsible for assisting the Lead Pressman with setup, operation, and maintenance of Komori 5 Color LED UV Press with Coater to produce a variety of printed materials, including magazines, brochures, promotional materials, etc. You will load plates, inks and paper according to operating procedures.
Responsibilities: Press Setup: Assist in the preparation and set up of the printing press according to job specifications. Load printing plates and adjust press settings for proper ink distribution and alignment. Load and position paper in the feeder. Operation: Monitor and control the printing process to ensure consistent print quality. Check ink flow and other settings during the print run to maintain print operation. Operate and control various press components, such as feeders, grippers, and delivery systems. Ensure paper specs are correct and loaded properly. Make adjustments as needed to feeding operation. Quality Control: Make adjustments to feeder and inking. Perform routine checks to ensure proper ink levels, tension, and registration. Inform Lead Pressman of any deficiencies or feeding issues. Maintenance: Conduct regular maintenance on printing presses according to Lead Pressman and operating porcedures, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn parts. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues promptly to minimize downtime. Safety: Adhere to safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with Lead Pressman and other members of the printing team, such as prepress technicians and bindery workers. Communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members to ensure smooth production processes. Requirements: Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a press operator. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills. Customer-focused with a commitment to service excellence and high standards. Knowledge and training in general health and workplace safety protocols. Possesses and maintains thorough knowledge of industry, machinery, and techniques. Basic knowledge of computers. Capable of troubleshooting and maintaining manufacturing machines and tools. Ability to work on complex projects with general direction and minimal guidance. Ability to perform any physical labor (when needed).
