Wellspring Lutheran Services Life Enrichment Manager in Fairview, Michigan

Hello! Thank you for your interest in joining the Wellspring team as a Life Enrichment Manager. *As a Life Enrichment Manager with the Fairview Skilled Nursing and Rehab Campus at Wellspring, you'll be part of a team of nurses, CNAs and senior support staff committed to helping seniors and families in Fairview. In this position, you'll be directly supporting your community in Oscoda county to provide services to seniors. In this position, it is preferred that you bring a bachelors degree in recreation therapy or a relating bachelors of arts or science degree (not required) and 2 years of prior experience in activities and/or senior services. You will also participate in the Wellspring CNA Class to become certified as a CNA in the State of Michigan and commit to obtaining your chauffer's license - both will be paid for. Having your CTRS - Therapeutic Recreational Specialist certification - is preferred, but not required - we will pay and help you obtain this certification upon hire. *

 

*As a Life Enrichment Manager, you will: *

Direct, supervise, coordinate, and implement activity programs appropriate to the needs and requests of the residents; evaluate programs to meet the needs of the residents

Complete enrichment assessments and plan of activity interests and levels of new residents according to their cognitive and physical abilities as well as life interests and desires

Establish goals and keep records of resident's activity patterns and document participation and responses to activities for those participating

Gather residents for all activities and life enrichment programs as applicable

Actively participate in programs

Carry out policies and practice in accord with rules and regulations of the Michigan Department of Public Health

Plan and implement an individual in room program for those residents unable to participate in scheduled activities

Arrange for purchase of needed supplies

Attend Care Plan Conferences, give input on each resident

Responsible to see that all State and Federal regulations for assessments are completed properly and in a timely manner; activity aides will be trained for the computer, have full knowledge of regulations and then put in the Care Conference section

Fill in and post calendars to inform residents and staff of scheduled events

Assist and/or make arrangements for monthly entertainment as directed

Analyze the potential assignments for volunteers and develop job descriptions for all assignments

Attend educational presentations as directed and apply knowledge as directed by manager.

Attend weekly department head meetings as needed

Willing to work flexible hours including holidays, weekends and other employee's hours as needed

Survey work to continue meeting the needs for volunteers at the facility

Make arrangements for transportation related to activities as needed

Set-up and clean-up of activity/life enrichment programs and events

Collaborate with managers to provide supervision and performance reviews on Activity Assistants

Promote, encourage, and recognize the resident volunteers

Efficient time management and prioritization of work
