Underwriting Processing Clerk
Location: Farmington Hills, MI
Pay Rate: $20/hr
Monday - Thursday 7:45am-4:15pm
Temporary contract through May 2025. Possible extension.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Customer Service Representative to join our team. The ideal candidate will utilize professional customer service skills to respond to telephone calls, investigate and resolve customer issues, and maintain accurate records. This role involves processing incoming mail, managing policy transactions, and providing support to agents and other business units.
Key Responsibilities:
Answer telephone calls and respond to customer inquiries with professionalism and courtesy.
Investigate and resolve customer issues and concerns effectively.
Reply to emails and process incoming mail, including mortgage endorsements and courtesy letters.
Review and respond to agents' comments in the policy system to assist with their transactions, including but not limited to:
Processing applications
Processing payments and assisting with payment inquiries
Endorsing and canceling policies
Perform various clerical duties as assigned, including acting as an overflow ACD agent when required.
Support other business units with necessary work to ensure smooth operations. Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years experience in office
Required experience in the insurance industry (2 years).
Strong typing skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Pleasant phone voice and strong phone etiquette.
Reliable attendance and punctuality. Physical Demands:
Regularly required to use hands for typing, handling phones, or documents.
Frequently required to talk and hear.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Additional Requirements:
Must demonstrate good attendance and a strong work ethic.
