Robert Half Staff Accountant in Fishers, Indiana
Description
We are on the lookout for a Staff Accountant to join our client's team based in Fishers, Indiana. The role involves ensuring the accuracy of general ledger data and supporting financial decision-making through the collection, analysis, investigation, and reporting of financial data.
Responsibilities:
• Analyze and report financial data accurately and in a timely manner, providing relevant information.
• Improve processes by identifying areas that require enhancement and implementing necessary improvements.
• Ensure compliance with standards such as GAAP and FASB, along with internal control systems and regulations.
• Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including financial statements and budget performance.
• Handle sensitive data confidentially while ensuring compliance with corporate controls and policies.
• Audit documentation to substantiate financial transactions.
• Record monthly journal entries and reconcile financial accounts by collecting and analyzing account information.
• Conduct user acceptance testing for accounting ERP and other systems as required for periodic projects and system upgrades.
• Perform account receivable functions as needed.
Requirements • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar
• Proficiency in bank reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Demonstrated ability to maintain and manage general ledger accounts
• Experience in preparing and posting journal entries, ensuring all business transactions are recorded
• Familiarity with month-end close process including account analysis and reconciliation
• Working knowledge of SAP, demonstrating an understanding of its key functionalities
• Proficient in Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, demonstrating the ability to navigate and use effectively
• Strong skills in Excel, including pivot tables, vlookups, and other advanced functions
• Experience with Dynamics, demonstrating capability in using it to streamline accounting processes
• Familiarity with the consolidation process, demonstrating the ability to compile and analyze financial information effectively
