Cummins Inc. Industrial Maintenance Technician (2nd Shift) in Fletcher, North Carolina
DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented Industrial Maintenance Technician to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Cummins Inc. facility in Fletcher, NC.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Expert Troubleshooting and Maintenance : Your comprehensive knowledge of electrical systems will ensure efficient troubleshooting, assembly, installation, testing, and maintenance, minimizing downtime and enhancing productivity.
Safety Leadership : By adhering to and promoting Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) standards, you will create a safer workplace, promptly addressing hazards and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
Quality Assurance : Your high standards of workmanship and attention to detail will support equipment failure analysis and quality inspections, ensuring all processes meet rigorous quality standards.
Resource Coordination : Acting as a formal resource, you will coordinate and guide team members, leveraging appropriate tools and machinery to optimize performance and achieve business goals.
Adaptability : Your ability to quickly and effectively adapt to changes in the manufacturing environment will help maintain smooth operations and address any emerging challenges.
Environmental Stewardship : Recognizing the environmental impact of your work, you will strive to minimize negative effects, promoting sustainable practices and engaging in HSE training.
Process Improvement : By identifying and reducing manufacturing constraints, scheduling maintenance around production needs, and solving problems, you will continuously improve processes and enhance efficiency.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Recognize and Mitigate Hazards : Understand and address controls-related hazards (electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic) in the manufacturing environment, incorporating safe practices and procedures into your daily work plan to create a safer machine environment.
Excel in Electrical Troubleshooting : Analyze and resolve electrical control system issues efficiently to ensure systems return to proper operating conditions swiftly.
Advance Factory Automation : Implement changes to automate manufacturing processes using the latest technology and programming techniques, ensuring you have the necessary materials and resources for project completion.
Develop Machine Programs : Design and implement machine programs to enhance the usage and overall operation of factory floor machines, improving efficiency and productivity.
Apply Manufacturing Knowledge : Utilize your understanding of manufacturing processes to implement changes in equipment and applications, meeting functional needs and driving continuous improvement.
Promote Safety Culture : Model proactive health and safety behaviors, contributing to a culture that prioritizes safety and minimizes risks.
Engage in Continuous Learning : Stay updated with the latest advancements in technology and manufacturing practices, continuously improving your skills and knowledge to adapt to evolving industry standards.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Significant work experience and in-depth knowledge obtained through specialized training and relevant experience.
QUALIFICATIONS
Additional Information:
Ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, and lift for up to 10 hours
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
Ability to work a flexible schedule and overtime as needed
Ability to read and interpret work instructions, drawings, schematics, blueprints, and/or other diagrams
Ability to troubleshoot malfunctioning equipment and perform necessary repairs in a safe and timely manner.
Ability to identify opportunities for mechanical and electrical improvements on new and aging machines and equipment within the facility
Ability to multi-task in a high noise and high activity environment
Basic computer skills, fork truck, scissor lift, crane experience preferred
