U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command Intelligence Specialist (Intelligence & Threat Support) in Fort Eustis, Virginia

Summary About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the ST-IC-W4P8AA US ARMY TRAINING AND DOCTRINE COMMAND. Responsibilities Assists in synthesizing intelligence data from multiple sources to identify potential gaps in threat reporting and operational impacts. Supports the development of operational strategies by analyzing trends in opposing force operations and their implications on training exercises. Drafts intelligence summaries that convey complex data into easily understandable formats for use in operational training manuals and lesson plans. Edits and refines intelligence products to ensure clarity, accuracy, and alignment with training objectives before dissemination to stakeholders. Conducts periodic audits of intelligence training materials to ensure they meet established compliance standards and reflect current intelligence assessments. Monitors updates in intelligence protocols and ensures that all training products are revised accordingly to maintain compliance with organizational directives. In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: Experience conducting analysis of all-source intelligence data to assess and report on potential threats. AND Experience assessing current and projected threat capabilities to produce threat documents or portions of intelligence reports, documents, briefings, and/or instructions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-11). Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Communications Intelligence and Threat Support (I&TS) Planning and Evaluating NOTE: Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. Direct Deposit of Pay is required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance based on a T5 investigation/Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI) security clearance. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
